You know over the last couple of days, the major news stories on the national news networks has been about Tiger Woods and his automobile accident and the couple that crashed the President's White House party. I for one am sick of it already. I hate to say it but the majority of Americans buy into all this junk.( And that's putting it nicely.) They would rather hear about the celebrities then what's really going on around the world!! Perhaps the powers to be really like that. I don't know, but why else does the news media push the more important news to the back?
I can see reporting about the party crashers because of the security issues involved, but they focus way too much on the couple themselves and not enough about how they were able to get past all that security. It is my understanding that they were trying to get a spot on one of those reality shows. Much like the father of that balloon boy. Is this a new trend?
As for me I don't waste my time on those reality shows. There are only about two that are worth their salt and those are the Biggest Loser and Extreme Makeover. Although from what I hear about Extreme Makeover is that a lot of those people who have had their houses made over lose them because of the higher taxes. I may be wrong on that so if anybody actually reads this let me know.
Guess that's what's on my mind today. Till next time,
Take care.

Well, Mike, your ideas sound fairly sound to me and a lot of Americans. But, we need to get folk to vote more. And, to vote bums out of office who have made a career of it.
I am an Independent who believes that we can make a difference just by getting the word out and voting.
Know it takes more, but the media is biased and bought.
I'd like to see less Socialism with true humnanity and that of helping Americans remain independent and not chasing away jobs.
God bless America.

Extreme Makeover helps but it does appear that the folk chosen are over their heads and with or without rehab, at risk for losing their homes. I take issue in what these homeowners added to their existing homes which I found unnecessary and not for the average working folk. Again, another gov't slam dunk thunk.
My son did some work on one of these homes and was not paid hugely but did so out of pride and hoping to help another and also give himself some exposure, but so appears that big contractors works with the gov't on these deals ...
At any rate, the homes rehabbed were not what the working class can afford but somehow bought or bought into...whether their own fault of the mortgage company or banks. Some folk should not own homes. Credit card companies will be in line for bail out next.
We have become an unaccountable society in many ways, and Hollywood is akin to celebrities in their quest for power and prestige and should not be examples of an average American, by any means. Where have our values of tradition and honor gone?
WE NEED JOBS so folk can stay busy and feed themselves and this usually cuts back on crime and much more. The health bill is a disaster and will put health ins cos out of business and then gov't will raise premiums while owning us. Not good at all. Socialism is not good as a permanent way of living.
