You know over the last couple of days, the major news stories on the national news networks has been about Tiger Woods and his automobile accident and the couple that crashed the President's White House party. I for one am sick of it already. I hate to say it but the majority of Americans buy into all this junk.( And that's putting it nicely.) They would rather hear about the celebrities then what's really going on around the world!! Perhaps the powers to be really like that. I don't know, but why else does the news media push the more important news to the back?
I can see reporting about the party crashers because of the security issues involved, but they focus way too much on the couple themselves and not enough about how they were able to get past all that security. It is my understanding that they were trying to get a spot on one of those reality shows. Much like the father of that balloon boy. Is this a new trend?
As for me I don't waste my time on those reality shows. There are only about two that are worth their salt and those are the Biggest Loser and Extreme Makeover. Although from what I hear about Extreme Makeover is that a lot of those people who have had their houses made over lose them because of the higher taxes. I may be wrong on that so if anybody actually reads this let me know.
Guess that's what's on my mind today. Till next time,
Take care.

Today is a big day for the senate they will be voting on the health care bill.
I still wonder how many have taken the time to read it. I don't think very many. If it passes it is my belief that it will really hurt Medicare and Medicaid.
As a senior I really would hate to see that happen. Elsewhere in the news that's made big headlines is Oprah Winfrey calling it quits with her tv show. You know what? Who cares!!
The news media has a way of making a story huge and then keep dragging it out so that's all people think and talk about around the water cooler. And another thing is that it's really sad when people seem to care about what's going on with the celebrities lives then what is really going on around them. Wake up America ,are these same celebrities going to pay your hospital bill or put your child through college? Don't think so!!!
Ask yourself this question-Sometimes do some of the people in the White House leak certain things to the news media knowing full well that they will jump on it,making it huge while at the same time it distracts people from the real stories that are taking place? I wonder.
Why is it that over the past few years there has been a surge in the number of people or towns or businesses that have done away with calling Christmas,Christmas? Even our new president is calling the White House Christmas tree the Holiday tree. How sweet!! Could this be due because of the first five letters in the word Christmas? What about the guy down at Ft. Hood? Just call it what it really is a terrorist attack!
And kids Santa wont be answering any letters in Alaska this year all because of one persons meanness.Remember It may only take one person to make a difference so when you sit there thinking that what you think doesn't matter, well brother think again. There's a fella who lives here in the same apartment building as I do and he always says"there is nothing we can do about anything. That's just the way the world is today." Feel kind of sorry for him. When his Social Security is gone and his Medicare isn't doing what it should be doing for him, well brother don't come crying on my shoulder.
Meanwhile here in the good old state of Iowa our governor is telling us that it is Bush's fault for the state our state is in.I did not personally care for President Bush or some of his policies but this new government cannot keep blaming someone else. I for one I'm getting real tired of hearing it!!! Governor Culver kept the people from building a rain forest at Pella, Iowa which would have pumped millions into our state. He has driven away the film industry by not making sure from the very beginning that the tax credits which were offered as an incentive to film makers to come to Iowa were being used properly. Instead he just did away with the program. Another thing that was pumping the bucks into Iowa.
And last but not least Sarah Palain. Who cares!!
That's it for this time around .

It is a sad state of affairs when there are so many people out there who care more about if Operah Winfrey is leaving her tv show then what's going on in the world around them. Maybe it's just their way of coping with the sad state that we are in. Early this morning I read where the house had passed their version of the health reform bill.Just moments ago I heard on the Today show that they are calling it an historical moment in history. What???? Now it is my understanding that as it goes to the senate that they most pass their own version then the two have to get together and vote on a final version that they both agree upon. Now that would be historic! This bill is 1990 pages long. I know because I just went on line to take a look at it. No I have not read it yet. Sounds kinds like some of the politicians does't it? If you want to read it in it's entirety you can find it online.
That's it for now.
Take care and God bless,

Mike Rupe Sr. My thoughts
It just galls me when I think about these big companies like AIG and Fannie May who are getting the H1N1 vaccine for their employees while the people who are the backbone of this country have to stand in line only to be told that there is no vaccine for them.(Usually because thay had run out.) If you were to ask me It looks like it goes to these people and the government 1st. Now I can see why the government workers get it but the others? Let them stand in line like the rest of America. What about my grandkids who fall into the age criteria that should get it? Last night on the evening news they interviewed some big wig doctor who said they ordered theirs first so it's the natural pecking order.Haven't these big companies already got enough of our tax dollars with out putting their greedy hands on the vaccine? As for them getting huge chunks of the stimulas money, they sure did do that then kind of turned around and laughed in our faces. You know Capitol Hill has spent very little out of the stimulas package. I for one sure don't see a lot of new jobs being created. Back here on the homefront in Iowa I see where former governor Terry Brandstant is gearing up to run for that spot again. I wouldn't vote for him in a pig's eye. Not after when serving in his last term his son whom was underage hit and killed someone while driving drunk and just got a slap on the wrist for doing that. Guess it really is the people you know. Tell you what f0lks we are in that final countdown. Tha's all for now see you next time around.
