Internet TV

Mike Rupe Sr My Thoughts
You know as a senior on a limited income I had to choose between the Internet or cable tv. Well I opted to go with the Internet. Of course I had to give up watching some of my favorite news channels, Much to my surprise I found out that I could get some of them like the Fox News channel and CNN over the Internet. I would make them a part of my daily routine when I got up in the morning, Then they started disappearing off the Internet, These networks started pulling them off the Internet tv sites that they were on. Greed I suppose ,played a big part in it with Fox taking the lead. I know here in Des Moines,Ia that almost every year they threaten to pull there channel off the local cable company unless they get paid more money. As for the so called Internet tv stations they leave a lot to be desired. Mostly what you find are 100s upon 100s of foreign news channels. One time I clicked on ESPN only to find it was not from the USA. now if you go to Fox News.com or CNN.com all you will find are clips of this or that. One day I seen they had the Glen Beck program listed on Fox so I thought a rerun would be better then nothing. Much to my dismay it was just another one of those useless clips. Now if you're just looking for a program that you may have missed it is very nice to know that if you go to ABC.com Fox.com Or the other two major networks that you can see these programs. Not to confuse you these are the one they have in their prime time line up. Not Fox & Friends or CNN News programs. Please don't get the impression that I want to get for free what others have to pay for. If they can come up with an app for a cell phone so you can watch these news programs then surely than can do the same for the internet. I would pay a small fee to receive them. But not the outlandish cable fee. These networks have made so much money over the years that it is about time they started giving back a little to the people.
On a different note one time while trying to find one of these tv websites that still carried the Fox News network ,I clicked on one which looked legit and it took me to a rather nasty website where I immediately got a very bad virus. So bad in fact it took control of the search engine or browser and even while just sitting here and not on the pc, all these different websites would start popping up all by themselves. Needless to say I sure didn't want that kind of garbage on my pc, and after several failed attempts to get rid of the virus I finally had to replace the hard drive. If I could remember the name of that website where I got the virus I would try my best to get a hold of the proper authorities who take care of these kind of things. And no, I am not a chronic griper, but when something is wrong I think I have the right to speak out about it.

Sunday,Feb.7th,2010

You know on Sundays mornings I really do like to watch Jack Van Impie and Rexella. Now usually any of these taped programs run about 2 weeks behind schedule but this morning she said it was Valentines Day,so I believe they were a little off. Never the less ,as always, they had something interesting to say.Was also watching the local news and they were doing a report on
the homeless here in Des Moines, Iowa. This report while the thought was a good one turned out to be nothing more then an ad disguised as the news.Don't think that is what the photojournalists quite had in mind.I was homeless from 1999 till 2005 and I knew these people that they interviewed. The one person is the head of raising funds for the mission and you never see him on camera unless it's for a fund raiser. All I can say is that their donations must be off for the year. Perhaps they need a pay raise. They do make very good money. I know, for I was on their payroll on three different occasions. I do know that the CEO moved to a new home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa Then had the main office moved there then took the Thrift store and moved it out there also. That took it away from the people in Des Moines who have to rely on the bus or their own two feet for transportation. Guess they figure they will get a better breed of people shopping there. Plus it makes it very convenient for the CEO. Then i watched a little of Fox & Friends which is like watching a televised edition of the National Enquire. They do report some good stuff on there but sometimes go on and on and on about the same story. Most all news broadcasts do this. This thing with the underwear bomber, well I think He was made to be the fall guy and that the bomb was never supposed to really go off. Not only does it take our minds off of other stuff that our government may be doing but it helps Homeland Security to say we need stronger measures with the people so we better start watching all citizens. Plant some chips in them, make them use the smart card, bug everything they have and so on and so on..This gives them one more reason to take our rights away from us.
Thanks for letting me bend your ear a little,
May God bless,
Mike Rupe Sr.
